A PRACTICAL CANADIAN BUYING GUIDE
Choosing a Homecraft heater starts with the finished sauna room, rather than a favourite kW number. The current Canadian-made range spans 4 to 18 kW across five collections, with published room guidelines from 100 to 1,150 cubic feet.
Your final heater package also depends on glass, insulation, ceiling height, electrical service, controls and the amount of stone the design requires.
Multiply the finished interior length, width and height to find the sauna volume in cubic feet. Tell us about large windows, a glass door, exposed masonry or an outdoor installation because heat loss can change the output you need.
Revive and Apex designs surround the elements with a larger stone mass for a fuller wave of steam. Revive Slim and Apex Mini bring that tower experience to tighter layouts. H-Series keeps the familiar wall-mounted format and a lighter stone bed.
Confirm voltage, phase, breaker capacity, clearances, sensor position, controller and stone quantity before ordering. A qualified electrician must install the heater to the current Homecraft manual and the electrical requirements where you live.

A LITTLE KNOW-HOW GOES A LONG WAY
From choosing your first heater to understanding the differences between the collections.
Installation manuals & resourcesStart with the sauna’s finished interior volume and the way you like to bathe. Revive Slim suits smaller rooms. Revive and Apex Mini offer a larger exposed stone mass for residential saunas. Apex covers larger room volumes, while H-Series is the traditional wall-mounted option. Glass, insulation and electrical supply also affect the final choice.
Homecraft referenceHomecraft lists 100–150 ft³ for the 4 kW Revive Slim, 100–250 ft³ for 5 kW and 200–300 ft³ for 6 kW. These are model-specific room guidelines. Its narrower tower is useful where floor space is limited; check the current manual for the exact dimensions, mounting and clearances.
Homecraft referenceRevive uses a tall, open stone basket with capacity for up to 200 lb / 90.7 kg of stones, suited to bathers who enjoy more steam and humidity. H-Series uses a shallower stone bed and focuses on a drier sauna feel. Both allow water to be applied to hot sauna stones as directed by Homecraft.
Homecraft referenceYes. Apex Mini is a floor-standing residential heater available in 6, 7.5 and 9 kW. Homecraft recommends 200–325 ft³, 250–370 ft³ and 350–450 ft³ respectively. The round tower holds five 35 lb boxes of Homecraft stones (175 lb / 79.4 kg total). Large glass areas or insufficient insulation can change the required output.
Homecraft referenceThe Apex range starts at 10 kW for 400–625 ft³, with 12 kW for 450–700 ft³, 15 kW for 600–900 ft³ and 18 kW for 690–1,150 ft³. Electrical options vary: the current range includes 240 V models and selected 208 V three-phase models. Confirm the power supply and control package before ordering.
Homecraft referenceYes. H-Series is designed for a traditional, drier sauna experience, but you can add water to its hot stones for a burst of steam. Use small amounts and follow the operating instructions. Homecraft lists room capacities up to 300 ft³ for 6 kW, 370 ft³ for 7.5 kW and 450 ft³ for 9 kW.
Homecraft referenceThe starting prices on this page are for the heater only. Local and Wi-Fi control options and stones are sold separately. ZAPARA can help assemble the correct heater, approved control and stone package for your sauna. The control system must match the heater’s power, voltage and installation location.
Homecraft referenceHave a qualified electrician confirm the electrical supply and install the heater according to the current model manual and applicable local requirements. The complete installation also needs the specified clearances, ventilation, sensor position, approved stones and compatible controls. Send us your room dimensions and glass area before choosing the kW rating.
Homecraft referenceHomecraft manufactures its sauna heaters in Surrey, British Columbia. The Canadian company dates to 1988 and has made sauna products for more than three decades. Product specifications and certification markings can vary by model, so confirm the current documentation for the heater you choose.
Homecraft referenceHomecraft explains that “Open” indicates an open circuit, often involving the temperature-sensor connection. Stop using the heater and have the sensor connection and wiring checked by a qualified installer. If the issue continues, contact ZAPARA or Homecraft support. The official troubleshooting video covers control and installation issues.
Homecraft referenceRepeated trips can be linked to restricted airflow through the stones or an installation or sensor-position issue. Have a qualified service person identify the cause using the current Homecraft manual. Do not bypass the high-limit protection or repeatedly reset it without correcting the problem.
